The Master Facilitator Zone (Membership Site)

Your Exclusive Hub for Skill-Building, Idea-Sharing, and Growing with a Community Passionate About Exceptional Teaching

Welcome to the Master Facilitator Zone!

Your Safe Space to Learn, Vibe, and Evolve.

A Membership Site, Not a Course

Hi, I’m Dr. Kellie Alston, and after 20 years of teaching in higher ed, I’ve often asked myself:

💡 Why aren’t we sharing effective teaching strategies more consistently?
In K-12 education, weekly grade-level meetings focus on what works and what doesn’t in the classroom. Yet, in higher ed, our faculty meetings rarely touch on how to teach better—leaving many of us to figure it out on our own.

Thankfully, my background in curriculum and instruction gave me the tools and passion to experiment, refine, and discover what works. But not every professor has that training—and you shouldn’t have to go it alone. That’s why I created The Master Facilitator Zone: a membership hub (not a course) designed specifically for academics who want to sharpen their skills, exchange ideas, and build a vibrant community dedicated to exceptional teaching.

🎓 Why Join the Zone?

Because your time is valuable, we keep it focused: One book + One strategy per quarter. No overwhelm. Just practical, actionable insights you can implement right away, on your schedule.

🔥 Here’s What You’ll Get:

1. Instructional Strategy of the Quarter:
Stay current with proven strategies you can apply across disciplines—whether you teach online, hybrid, or face-to-face. No more scouring the internet for ideas. Each quarter, you’ll get:

  • Micro-lessons, workshops, and templates to help you quickly implement strategies.
  • Frameworks and resources that make it easy to adapt techniques for your students.
  • Practical, ready-to-use approaches you can fit into your schedule with ease.

2. Book of the Quarter:
Love to read but never have the time? We’ve got you covered. Each quarter, we’ll read one impactful book on teaching, learning, or higher ed issues. You’ll enjoy:

  • A pacing guide to keep you on track, no matter how hectic your schedule.
  • Monthly livestreams, videos, or audio talks to explore key takeaways from the chapters.
  • The Master Facilitator Discussion Framework so you can engage deeply with the content.

3. The Master Facilitator Meet-Up:
Once a quarter, join us for a virtual meeting of the minds. We’ll discuss the book (hopefully with the author!), share our wins, challenges, and insights, and grow together. You’ll connect with peers who understand your struggles and want to see you succeed.

💡 Why This Membership is Different:

  • No more lost emails or inbox overload. Instead of digging for that webinar link or resource, you’ll have everything in one place.
  • Relevant, real-world strategies delivered with consistency, making them easier to implement.
  • Ongoing community and collaboration with like-minded educators who are just as passionate about teaching as you are.

🚀 Make Your Teaching Journey Fulfilling

No more “set it and forget it” teaching. No more wondering if your students are truly transforming. You deserve to teach with confidence and clarity—and feel fulfilled while doing it.

Kellie Alston
Kellie Alston

Hi, I'm Dr. Kellie P. Alston, an educator, trainer, author, and instructional designer who designed and taught online courses for a teacher education program from 2004 to 2023. My passion for teaching grew from making my cousins, friends, and stuffed animals play school to serving in the field of education as a preschool teacher, an elementary school teacher, a reading specialist, a curriculum facilitator, an adjunct instructor, a course developer, and a full-time distance education lecturer.

Since I can remember, my inquisitive mind has always compelled me to not take things at face value but to ask questions. Consequently, the question, "How do people learn?" has always fueled my love for teaching no matter the age of the learner. Somehow, I have always known that keeping this question at the forefront of my mind would make me a lifelong investigator and discourage stagnancy.

At a very young age, I recognized the joy I felt while teaching and the fulfillment that came from breaking a concept or skill down so that it was easy to understand. So, it made sense when the literature confirmed that one's teaching self-efficacy directly impacts the motivation and success of one's students. I know this finding to be true because it has played out in my career time and time again. As a result, I am on a mission to strengthen the teaching self-efficacy of higher educators through speaking, training, coaching, and consulting. My company, Virtualgogy LLC, was birthed out of this mission.

So, thank you for being here at my Virtualgogy School, for this bio is really more about you than about me. My podcast, YouTube channel, courses, products, and services have all been created to help you facilitate better, feel better, and increase student success. Serving you here? Let's just say that it aligns with my love language and is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the membership start and finish?
The membership begins as soon as you enroll and lasts for one year.
How often is new content added to the site?
New content is added twice per month, specifically under the instructional strategy section. Other areas may be updated throughout the quarter as needed. Additionally, a new instructional strategy and a new book for each quarter will require updates quarterly.
What is the refund policy?
Due to the immediate access to digital content, you may not receive a refund. However, I would be glad to meet with you to discuss any issues or concerns you may have with your membership.
Will there be live sessions?
Yes, a quarterly virtual "meet-up" will occur to discuss the book and connect. Also, there will also be monthy live sessions for training on strategies and discussions about specific chapters.
How do members connect or interact?
The site includes a private community for sharing ideas and asking questions. The live sessions also offer the optimal opportunity to "vibe" with the group.
Why Should I Add This Community to My Long List of To-Dos?
The Zone will help you grow professionally and personally because when your teaching self-efficacy heightens, you feel much better about your competence in the classroom. The needs for competence, relatedness, and autonomy are essential for facilitating optimal functioning. As you take an active approach to learning new, evidence-based strategies, you will find that your perspective on what you do and how well you are capable of doing it changes. Skills can be learned. And, even you are already a dynamic designer of instruction, you can always enhance your skillset. Plus, the camaraderie of learning with, about, and from other people is priceless. This is not just a conference or a workshop. It is an ongoing connection with likeminded individuals. That is something worthy "to do."
